Gourmia Recalls 176,000 Air Fryer Ovens Sold at Target After Burns
Gourmia is recalling about 176,000 air fryer ovens sold at Target because the doors can snap shut. See the model number, UPC, injuries and the free fix.

Gourmia is recalling nearly 176,000 Stainless Steel Digital 9-Slice Digital Air Fryer Ovens sold only at Target, because the glass doors can slam closed if the oven is bumped and burn the person reaching inside. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall, Gray News reported on Nov. 5.
The company has received 57 reports of the doors shutting unexpectedly while someone was taking food out, and those incidents led to at least 40 burn injuries. Owners are told to stop using the ovens right away and ask Gourmia for a free repair kit.
Which Gourmia air fryer ovens are recalled
The recall covers a single countertop model. Gray News coverage gives these identifying details:
- Product name: Gourmia Stainless Steel Digital 9-Slice Digital Air Fryer Oven
- Model number: GTF7530, printed on the back of the unit
- UPC: 810002862779
- Design: two glass French doors that are spring-loaded and have metal handles
The spring-loaded French doors are the part that fails. On this model, a bump to the oven can make the doors snap shut while a hand or arm is still reaching in for food.
Where and when the ovens were sold
Target was the only retailer. It sold the ovens nationwide, in its stores and on Target.com, from October 2021 through June 2026. The price was $150.
Because sales ran from late 2021 into mid-2026, the oven may be in kitchens that bought it several holiday seasons ago. The model number GTF7530 is on the label on the back of the unit.
How big the recall is
Headlines on the Gray News story describe the recall as covering nearly 200,000 units, while the body of the same report puts the count at nearly 176,000 ovens, citing the CPSC. The CPSC figure of nearly 176,000 is the more specific of the two.
What the remedy is
The fix is a repair kit that owners request from Gourmia at no charge. According to the report, the kit includes a doorstop that attaches to the oven along with instructions for installing it.
Owners are told to stop using the ovens immediately and contact Gourmia for the kit.
What this means for owners
Unloading food means reaching into a hot oven cavity. A door that closes on its own during that motion is the hazard federal regulators flagged, and it has happened repeatedly: at least 40 of the 57 door incidents Gourmia received ended with a burn.
Anyone who bought a stainless steel Gourmia air fryer oven at Target between October 2021 and June 2026 has a direct reason to check the model number. A household that keeps using an unrepaired unit stays exposed to the same door problem, since the fix is a part the owner installs at home rather than a swap at the store.
The recall notice lists one model, GTF7530, with UPC 810002862779.
